As
A Corporate Citizen
As a corporate citizen, Quazant
recognizes that it has a
responsibility to
offer what it can back to the community from which it draws.
The companys good-will
relationships
affect its image, employee morale,
productivity, and vendor and customer loyalty. To that end, Quazant is a
member of the Better Business Bureau, and also a founding member
of the Houston Entrepreneurs Foundation. The Houston Entrepreneurs Foundations
mission is to enable Houstons future leaders to give and to continue building a
foundation that will support entrepreneurs and their communities for generations to come.
To that end, HEF holds a block of Quazant stock
options, which are held in trust until Quazant has a liquidity event.
At that time, the Foundation exercises the options
on Quazants behalf and deposits the proceeds into a donor directed fund.
HEF
then assists Quazant in finding charitable recipients that reflect the companys
philanthropic interests. Quazant takes a deduction on the gift at the time of the
liquidity event equal to the difference between the
original exercise price and the price
of the stock at the time of liquidity.
By working with HEF, we reassure Quazants position as a dedicated corporate citizen
early in our development, which both enhances our corporate image and nurtures a corporate
culture that embraces community involvement.
As An Employer
As an employer, Quazant wants to incorporate that entrepreneurial spirit upon which the
company was started, and with which each employee joined the company.
We recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and must be protected by each
and every employee within the company.
To
achieve the goal of a mutually beneficial working environment, Quazant employees must be
honest, respectful, professional, hard working, and fair with themselves and their fellow
employees.
At Quazant we want each employee to know that he or she, as an individual, is highly
respected and is an integral part of a collective effort.
Additionally, in the spirit of entrepreneurship, when an employee encounters
something for which the company has few guidelines, we want him or her to feel free to
grow and develop the area. In other words, we
reward forward and free thinking.
While we must keep the long-term horizon in mind, Quazant wants its employees to know that
short-term issues and projects are important and grow into the long-term life of the
company. With that in mind, we will not
allow an employee to sacrifice quality of life for the company.
While we admire the work ethic, it is not
sustainable over long periods of time without, ultimately, having a potentially disastrous
effect on the employees personal life and that of the company.
Quazant hires only experienced, capable, and bright individuals who bring not only those
qualities, but also an amiable personality to the company.
In recognition that not every employees life circumstances are the most
conducive to working from Quazants offices, employees are allowed to work from their
home. This also broadens the area from which
Quazant can draw talented resources.
Given that we hold our employees and their capabilities in such high regard, we are able
to live by some things that other hold to be impossible:
It is possible to produce bug-free software
Simplicity is the key to success
It is possible to outperform the future
Quazant is an equal opportunity-oriented company. We
recruit, employ, train, compensate and promote without regard to race, creed, color,
national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or veteran
status.
As A Product Provider
Just as we hold ourselves to the highest levels of ethics and honesty with and from our
employees, we extend the same consideration to our customers and partners. Holding to these standards becomes especially
important and scrutinized when either or both parties are under pressure. Quazant holds itself to these highest levels at
all times and with every customer and partner.
We recognize that trust is the basis of a relationship, whether
business or personal. Without trust in Quazant, customers will focus on short-term
transactions rather than making the soft investments necessary for creating
mutual and enduring value. In addition to
creating the trust relationship, Quazant wants to ensure that it provides uncompromising
quality in its products and services.
Simply meeting the expectations of our customers and partners will not generate the
relationships Quazant wants to foster. Only
by exceeding our customers expectations, and holding itself to the aforementioned
standards, can Quazant be successful in creating lasting customer and partner
relationships. Only with this type of
relationship can opportunities arise for improving both Quazants and its
customers business.
